Dr. Telecom, what’s an MVNO?

What are MVNOs and how are they different from the carriers?

  • MVNO stands for Mobile Virtual Network Operator. MVNOs are networks that offer connectivity from a larger operator and do not operate a cellular network themselves. Essentially, they are marketing and billing companies that are associated with one or more operators. Well known MVNOs in the US include Xfinity Mobile (Verizon), Google Fi (T-Mobile), Cricket (AT&T), Tracfone (AT&T) and Consumer Cellular (AT&T). The difference between those MVNOs and iSimplexity is that we offer plans from multiple operators while these other companies just have one operator relationship. With iSimplexity you can purchase service from our Blue, Red and Purple operators to select the one that works best for you.
