The Universal Check
Open your phone dialer and enter *#06#. If an EID number appears next to your IMEI, your phone has an eSIM. This works on every iPhone and Android.

On iPhone
Go to Settings > General > About and look for an Available SIM or EID entry. In the US, iPhone 14 and later have no SIM tray because they run on eSIM only.

On Android
Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager, or Network & internet > SIMs. If you can Add eSIM, your phone is ready. Menu names vary slightly by brand.
